First English Lutheran Church of Litchfield Sterling Silver Spoon

We had some sterling silver spoons donated to the Historical Society. The spoons had been in the family of Jacob J. Frey for over 100 years. He was president of Southern Illinois Light and Power Company, on the finance committee to build St. Paul's Lutheran Church and his former home is now the home of the Evans family on Tremont Street. There are 8 spoons with dates from 1903 to 1909. (3) St. Paul's Lutheran, (4) assorted Hillsboro and (1) First English Lutheran in Litchfield. Thank you to the Utiger family for donating the spoons!

The First English Lutheran Church of Litchfield spoon was sent to the Litchfield Museum.

Two of the St. Paul's spoons were sent to the church.

The remaining spoons are in the Historical Society collection.
