Manske-Niemann Farm Tour
Updated: Sep 14, 2021

Back in 2010 about 20 members of the historical society toured the Manske-Niemann farm in Litchfield. The 462 acre farm is located on Route 66 just outside Litchfield. Ophelia Niemann hosted our tour. She's the great-great-granddaughter of Prussian immigrant Michael Manske, who purchased the farm in 1863. The farm is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and twice was listed on Landmarks Illinois most endangered Illinois sites. The property was described as being one of the most intact examples of a 19th and 20th century farm in all of Illinois.
