To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment and women’s constitutional right to vote, buildings and landmarks across the country will light up in purple and gold on Wednesday, Aug. 26, as part of the nationwide Forward Into Light Campaign, named in honor of the historic suffrage slogan, “Forward through the Darkness, Forward into Light.”

For this project I used 6 white par 38 LED light bulbs with yellow gel filters to illuminate the fourth floor courthouse tower windows gold. On the courthouse grounds I used purple gel filters to illuminate the building in violet. Imagine Hillsboro used 6 par 38 yellow LED light bulbs to light up the porch in gold. This was the first time our courthouse was lit with colored lights to mark a special occasion.
